Designed to protect the head and torso of passengers during survivable aircraft accidents, the AmSafe Seatbelt Airbag system looks and operates like a standard AmSafe seatbelt.
Compatible with standard restraint attachment points, the airbag is stored in the lap belt portion of the seatbelt and deploys up and away from the seat occupant, affording passengers of all sizes critical protection to the head, neck and torso in the event of an aircraft impact. Meeting the 16g requirements for commercial passenger seats, more than 30 commercial airlines around the world have installed the airbag on their aircraft.
The AmSafe Seatbelt Airbag system is a complete solution for FAR/CS 25.56.2, Head Injury Criteria (HIC) and FAR/CS 25.785 for angled and other unique seat configurations. Various system configurations are available to meet certification, design or customer requirements.
